Der Fetisch Klinik

Sometimes things sound more exotic when translated into another language. Der Fetisch Klinik nearly sounds like a horror or psychological thriller movie. It’s the name I’ve given to a set that’s available now in the studio. A select few visitors have had the chance to tour our freshly added 2nd floor. This adds another 2000 sq ft of space to the studio, doubling the size to 4000 sq ft. On that level we have some already needed storage space as well as 5 more rooms we’ll use as studios. One of those rooms has some features that are serving as a perfect backdrop to a prop I acquired recently.  What is it? A medical exam table. I’m not sure of the vintage but it’s likely from the 70’s or 80’s (if anyone can tell me better I’d love to know, I rather like that it was actually made in Morgantown PA). This look is themed to an Alternative / Fetish sort of imagery. It’s not for everyone but for those who appreciate the aesthetic it’s a real treat.

Just yesterday the terrific Ms Claire Marie visited the studio and helped me give this set a trial run. It was a great opportunity to see what could be made with it and rather than go on and on I’ll let the photos tell the story. I will note the handful of images that I did some editing on, the remainder will be exactly as they left the camera. No adjusting, no cropping, the files as they were shot. I want to point that out as all my clients get an SD card the moment the shoot finishes with all their files. I do my very best to provide them images they can share and use without editing. If you pay attention to these unedited shots there is virtually none where you can see any light stands or cables (a few I neglected to move a music speaker and some odds and ends but just a few). This is because I put up several lighting mounts in the ceiling and on the walls.  This set will be offered as a Private Shoot Petite as has been on this site since the beginning of the year at $300 or $275 for repeat clients. This includes full makeup and hair, all images on an SD card when the shoot finishes, access to wardrobe plus 8 edited images.  Don’t want 8 edits? Take 6 and deduct another $25 off your total. Want just 4? Take another $25 off… you choose. So here we go. All photos can be clicked for larger versions.BANN1487e

The shot below is one of my favorites… I love the smoke coming from the cigarette in Claire’s Left hand…As Claire was posing I decided to switch off one of my strobes, compare the shot above to the one below. Each has it’s merits. I always give every client all their files so they can see which they love most.BANN0102Here I bring back the other lightsBANN0103 For the shot below I was positioned such that one of the lights were pointed directly at me. In a moment I nearly felt like it could be one of those high powered medical lights. I don’t endorse smoking but love the way the smoke looks here.BANN0138 BANN0164

The shot below is one of my favorites from between the doors.BANN0180 BANN0203e Claire began playing with these two door chains and instantly their value as a prop was evident. It might not seem it here but I was actually positioned 2 rooms away about 10 feet up a ladder.BANN0231e Claire has a helper lurking in this photo:BANN0336 BANN0338 Sometimes shadows and faces in them can be very evocative.BANN0364

The shot below would probably have me editing out the strobe you can see in the ceiling and transom reflection.BANN0498

The shot below shows I didn’t have enough light on her face but is one I could bring that up in post production.

Here that face light is exactly where it needs to be.BANN0707

The shot below was edited. Mostly balance, color, contrast nothing much at all with Claire. It was cropped with the one beneath it the full image.BANN0716eig BANN0716et BANN0736 BANN0882

The shot below shows how there are no light stands in the room, but there’s some stuff we didn’t move out of the way to the left edge.BANN0941 BANN0954 BANN1251 BANN1276

The one below does show a light stand and the ladder I’m on, I included it here just to show how much of the space is in fact being captured in the images.BANN1351

The image below was lightly edited. The floor and walls aren’t all bowed like this. It’s because of the fisheye lens I used to get this unusual perspective.BANN1487e

Claire was committed to this pose. She wasn’t harmed in any way.BANN1637 BANN1707

This is an edited shot only for contrast and balance.BANN2023fc

Those foot stirrups came in handy.BANN2303

The next few were shot in an adjacent room using only the light in the hall. I left the color balance more orange because as soon as I saw it I loved the other-worldly look it provided.BANN2465 BANN2510 BANN2513

The shot below is the only edited one of this bunch and frankly that was cropping it and framing it in black.BANN2589 BANN2641 BANN2642
